About me

I am a girl from China who is pursuing my bachelor's degree in the U.S. I go to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and will be graduating in May, 2011.
I love micro-blogs and spent a lot of time on it, and this habit became an intrigue for me to create this blog--"WeiboChina." As I can see during these years of living in the U.S. many people here are still not so familiar with China's situation today. Some of them only know the two biggest cities in China--Beijing and Shanghai, and they get the news about China only from the U.S. government and media. I love my country and I really want more and more people in the U.S. know about Chinese society and culture. However, there are so many things to talk about China if I count them from big political issues to the trifles in Chinese people's lives. So I  choose the content in my blog from my great interests: big social events and Chinese food! Of course, I will also have a lot of discussions on Weibo-the Chinese Twitter, which is a very powerful web platform in China and also the major source I use for my blog topics. Since Weibo is widely used by Chinese people today, I find it more authentic in reflecting Chinese people's lives than the information we get from the government officials. Whoever interested in Chinese news and especially--the Chinese food are welcomed to my blog, and I would also love to hear from you if you have any suggestions or something you want to know about China. I will find the best answer for you!
